An increase of 6.5 percent on the prices of home in Iowa was observed last October compared to last year’s price, a report from the DesMoinesRegister.com stated on Thursday, November 14.

According to the Cedar Rapids Association of Realtors, an increase of $10,715 was observed in this October’s $158,778 home sales when compared to October 2012’s average home sale of $148,063. A six percent increase in homes sold this October was also observed, as 190 homes were sold in October 2013 compares to 179 homes in October 2012.

Kathy Miller, Association of Realtors’ president, expressed optimism at the current trend in the housing industry.
